Welcome to Abraham Ranch

To Our Supporters,

Thank you so much for joining us on this journey! Through this newsletter and our social media channels, we will be sharing our goals for this endeavor, a behind the scenes look at the processes and construction that go into building an animal rehabilitation center, and exciting news and updates along the way. Once we’re up and running, you’ll get to follow the stories of the animals we care for and their progress towards living healthy and happy lives.

First and foremost, we want to share our reasons for launching Abraham Ranch and our goals. For me, this dream has been brewing for my entire life. For my husband, Erik, he may or may not have became more intrigued about “ranch” life after watching the series Yellowstone. And if you ask our almost 2-year-old daughter, she’s in it for the tractor and side-by-side rides while eagerly awaiting the arrival of animals. Not to be left out, our two rescue dogs (Bindi and Summit) are certainly grateful for the open land and trails to explore.

Our vision as we know it so far

  • To save animals from neglect, cruelty or death and give them a chance at a life filled with humane treatment and love

  • To practice conservation and responsible stewardship of land

  • To provide a sanctuary not only for animals, but also a retreat for humans in need to reconnect with nature

  • To serve as a resource for education about animals and nature, the environment and the role we play

  • To help people make healthy and informed decisions about their food sources and learn how to identify farms and businesses that are ethical and humane

Fortunately, we are not alone in this vision. We are partnering with experts in rescue and rehabilitation of animals, and we’ll have more announcements around that to come. Also helping to make this dream a reality are the two incredible caretakers we have recently hired. Teagen is moving here from Washington after graduating from veterinary school and will be helping to care for the animals, and Tanner is local to Ortonville and will be in charge of all things facilities, farming and land. Stay tuned for a little bit more about them in a newsletter to come. Last but not least, we are grateful to have an incredible support base through all of you!

We are hoping to be fully operational by the end of summer. In the meantime, we’ll be sharing a lot of barn progress and all the steps involved with getting the pastures ready in our social media channels this spring so keep an eye out for that.

Thank you again for supporting Abraham Ranch, and please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or suggestions!

Until next time!

Katie, Erik, Celia, Bindi & Summit
